Grassroots drag racing runs on people: families, friends, local businesses and fans who keep showing up. Most small teams don't have corporate budgets. What they have is a community, and every kind of support makes a difference.
Here are the most practical ways to help, from free to funded.
1. Show Up
Go to your local track. Watch the racing, walk the pits when it's allowed, and say hello. Racers notice who comes back week after week. Bring a friend who's never been, since most fans start because someone invited them.
2. Follow and Share
Free, and more valuable than it sounds:
- Follow the team on social media and turn on notifications.
- Like, comment and share their updates.
- Tag them in photos you take at the track.
Every share helps the team reach more fans.
3. Lend a Skill
Teams need more than mechanics. Photography and video, social media, graphic design, bookkeeping, fabrication, and an extra set of hands loading the trailer all help. If you have a skill, offer it. Just ask what the team actually needs first, so your help fits their plan.
4. Wear the Gear
Buying racing apparel from brands that give back to the sport is one of the most direct ways to help. Every shirt puts the message on the street, and the proceeds go back into grassroots racing. It's also the easiest way to show you're part of the crew.
Why It Matters
Family-run teams pass the sport from one generation to the next. Kids learn to work on cars, solve problems under pressure, handle a loss and try again. Supporting a grassroots team keeps that going.
How Iron Faith Racing Supports Grassroots Racing
Iron Faith Racing is a faith-driven family drag racing team from Iron Station, North Carolina. Racing is part of who we are: we're developing our own car, Testimony, a 2014 Ford Mustang GT, and we highlight and support other racers, crew members and teams in the community. On a recent night at Mooresville Dragway, Testimony wasn't on the track at all. We were there to support another team and document the people who make local drag racing what it is.
Ways to be part of it:
- Shop the gear. Every purchase supports grassroots racing. Shop all IFR apparel.
- Follow the journey in our Updates and on our social channels, where we feature the team members and teams we support.
- Wear the mission: the Founding Supporter Tee 2026 is made for the people backing IFR from the beginning.
- Get in touch: Contact us about volunteering, media or general questions.
