Iron Faith Racing’s Testimony loaded on the trailer for its initial evaluation at Barnbilt

Testimony heads to Barnbilt for its initial evaluation as Iron Faith Racing begins developing the car’s safety, reliability and performance plan.

Iron Faith Racing’s Testimony loaded on the trailer for its initial evaluation at Barnbilt

Today is an important day for Iron Faith Racing.

We’re taking Testimony, our 2014 Mustang GT, to Barnbilt for its initial evaluation. This is the first step toward developing a clear, responsible plan for the car—one built around safety, reliability and steady driver progression.

We aren’t arriving with every decision already made. We want Tyler Summers and the Barnbilt team to inspect the complete car, evaluate the current combination and help us determine what should stay, what needs attention and what the next phase should include.

A Strong Starting Point

Testimony already has a solid performance foundation:

  • Built Gen 1 Coyote engine
  • On3 single-turbo system with a VS Racing 76/89 turbo
  • Aeromotive dual-pump fuel system with ID1300 injectors
  • BCR Stage 2–built 6R80 transmission
  • Circle D converter
  • Upgraded axles and one-piece driveshaft
  • BMR and Viking suspension components
  • Lund calibration with Cortex boost control
  • Keizer beadlocks with Hoosier slicks
  • Aerospace front brakes

The car was represented to us as producing approximately 800 wheel horsepower, but our priority now is establishing an accurate baseline and making sure the entire combination works together properly.

We want to preserve the good components already in the car and avoid replacing parts that continue to fit the program.

Safety Before Speed

Testimony currently does not have a roll cage, so safety will be a major part of Barnbilt’s evaluation.

We’ll be looking to Barnbilt for guidance on the appropriate cage and certification path, driver fit, seating and harnesses, window net, electrical cutoff, battery mounting, driveshaft containment, fire protection, tow points and provisions for future safety equipment.

Our son will begin driving the car as he continues developing his experience. That makes it especially important that Testimony is safe, predictable and manageable—not simply fast.

The First Goal: A Repeatable 7.00

Our initial performance target is approximately 7.00 seconds in the eighth mile.

The objective isn’t to reach that number at any cost. We want a car that consistently goes from A to B, responds predictably and gives our driver a platform he can learn in with confidence.

From there, we’ll progress only when the driver, chassis, safety equipment and available data tell us we’re ready.

The car currently has a Lund calibration. That calibration will be evaluated before we make any decision about retaining or replacing it, and we’ll rely on Barnbilt’s recommendation regarding the best tuning and coordination strategy going forward.

Prepared Track First, Future Options Preserved

Our initial development will focus on prepared-track racing, including index and bracket opportunities.

We also want to preserve practical compatibility with small-tire no-prep racing as the program develops. That doesn’t mean we’re building an all-out no-prep car today. It means making thoughtful decisions now so we don’t unnecessarily limit Testimony tomorrow.

The evaluation will consider future compatibility with a 28x10.5 non-W and/or 275 small-tire combination. If no-prep becomes a larger part of the program, we can select a dedicated rear wheel-and-tire package later.

The Next Chapter Begins

Today is about listening, learning and establishing the right plan.

Once Barnbilt completes its initial evaluation, we’ll have a better understanding of Testimony’s current condition, the safety work required and the most responsible path toward our first track passes.

We’re excited to begin this next chapter—and we’ll share Barnbilt’s findings and the resulting plan in a future update.

We know where we want to go. Now we begin the process of getting there the right way.

Driven by Faith, Built for HIS Glory.
